Writing a Synopsis

Most of the feedback I've gotten so far has been more about tweaks than massive structural problems, so I decided that it was a good time to start prepping my synopsis and query letter.

In the synopsis, you boil your entire book's action and characterization down to a few short paragraphs. It's the universe's way of saying, "Hey you, you feel like you're impressive for writing a book? Whatever. Tell me that story again, and do it in less than a page this time."

Working on it felt a little like a punishment for reaching this point in the process, but at least I've got a draft to keep polishing.

I'm glad that I started on it now. Hopefully drawing back to consider the bigger picture will help me track down the remaining issues with my manuscript.
