it's edit time

At some point, I managed to convince myself that editing the draft of my book would be far easier than completing it. Now that I've moved into the process of reevaluating my earlier writing decisions, I'm starting to think of editing as a more formalized version of my typical self-doubt.

It actually feels pretty good to go through my pages and trim out the parts that I know I don't need. It's the bigger picture that keeps me up nights. Does the story make sense? Am I striking a good balance between plot and description? Will anyone give a damn about what happens to the characters? Is the ending satisfying enough?

When it comes down to it, all I can do is polish the draft up as best I can and then get some outside feedback.
