kind of frazzled, but in a good way

This week I finished the toughest scene I've ever written. I had to work out a lot of backstory to get at the subject in the way I really wanted to, and then I needed to figure out how to explain things so that they'd make sense without taking up too much space.

I'm feeling great about getting it done, but now I've realized that I'll need to rewrite several other passages in order to keep things consistent. Hopefully I can knock that out in the next couple of days, though. My reward is going to be getting into a really cool new scene that I thought of during the middle of this last slog.

There are times when this whole "writing a book" thing seems impossibly slow. Thankfully I've also got days like today, when I'm feeling pretty good about my progress.
